A QUARTET of Newport High School Old Boys youngsters capped a successful season by representing their country.

Josh Reynolds and James McCarthy played for Wales in union while Jake McDonald and Fraser Stroud were capped in league.

The four youngsters were members of NHSOB's under-16s team last year and have moved into the youth squad.

"It was a great achievement and the boys are from a very successful squad that contributed a large number to the Dragons under-16s," said club coach Rhys Thomas, the seven-times capped Wales tighthead prop.

"NHSOB has a great history in producing players – Alix Popham, Ashley Smith, Lewis Evans to name just a few.

"It's a great family club with excellent coaching and we are always on the lookout for more players to join us from under-8s all the way up to open rugby."

If interested in joining NHSOB go down to the club on Yew Tree Lane, Caerleon.
