BEDWAS boss Steve Law is looking for a reaction from his charges when they travel to resurgent Bridgend in the Principality Premiership (kick-off 1pm), writes Chris Kirwan.

The men from Bridge Field head into the game on the back of a heavy 48-16 home loss to Llanelli just a week after dishing out their own hammering to Cardiff.

The west Walians boasted a number of Scarlets players, with livewire full-back Jordan Williams scoring a cracker, but Law offered no excuses.

"It was a good Llanelli side but we were hoping to show the consistency needed at this level," he said.

"The boys were given the accolades after the Cardiff win and last week showed they are a little bit off where we'd like to be.

"It's a similar group that will head to Bridgend and we are looking for a reaction from them."

The Ravens have stirred after a tough start to the campaign with six losses on the spin followed by victories against Neath and Cardiff.

"You have got to give Bridgend credit," said Law. "They have won their last two and are climbing into everything.

"They are the blueprint for everyone in the sense that after losing so many players over they have rebuilt and we know it's going to be a very tough game.

"You need to make sure you deal with the contact area against Bridgend because they are very aggressive there so you need to make sure you are very correct and have the right numbers."

Bedwas, who are struggling for numbers, will field a similar team to the one that lost to Llanelli which would mean returns to Bridgend for back row forward Andrew Waite, fly-half James Dixon and Adam Williams after summer moves to Bridge Field.

Law's side did the double over the Ravens last season with a try at the death by prop Dan Preece earning a 23-16 away win in November before they ended a home 33-16 success in March.
