BEDWAS may not have anything left to play for this season but head coach Steve Law insists his side won’t be taking it easy in their last three games.

The first of those comes tonight at Bridge Field when Bedwas entertain Swalec Cup semi-finalists and Principality Premiership play-off contenders Llandovery (7.30pm).

The fixture is the last for Law’s men on home turf this term and the Bedwas chief wants the hosts to finish with a flourish in front of their own supporters.

As well as that, Bedwas can have a big say on which teams seal those top three spots, as after the meeting with the Drovers they travel to Cross Keys and Pontypridd.

Llandovery, Keys and Ponty are all in the hunt for a play-off place, sitting fourth, fifth and third in the table respectively with only three games left.

“We won’t be easing back,” said Law. “The three teams we’ve got to play are all going for the play-offs.

“Llandovery will be our last home game of the season and we want to finish with a win at Bridge Field in front of our own supporters.

“We’d like to go to Sardis Road and beat Pontypridd, and we’ve also got Cross Keys to play.

“You want a good start and finish to the season so it gives you something to build on, so we’ll pick the strongest side available for these matches and won’t be an easy touch.”

He added: “I think Llandovery will come at us hard, they are going all out to win the league, but we’re looking forward to it.

“We’ll mix things up a bit but we’ll still have a strong side out.”

Bedwas saw their hopes of silverware this season end last Saturday when Pontypridd got the better of them in the Fosters Challenge Cup final.

Trailing 38-6 at the break, Bedwas staged a remarkable comeback before suffering an agonising 38-34 reverse.

“It was a strange feeling really,” added Law. “It was an incredible fightback in the second half but we felt it was a game we should have won.

“I was really pleased with the effort and endeavour we showed in the second half, although we left 20 points out there in the first half and our defending was very poor.

“We were camped on their line for the last three minutes and we threw everything at them.”

Points machine Richard Powell remains sidelined for Bedwas.
