LIAM WILLIAMS: Simply superb in the first half, taking Gatland’s call to be bold to heart. Ran amok, cutting some lovely lines with his solo break putting over Rhys Webb to earn the lead at the break. 8

GEORGE NORTH: Immense. The southern hemisphere big guns tend to bring the best out of the winger. Fast feet, searing pace, power and took the right options. Went on the run nine times with four clean breaks. If only there was another North to be on his shoulder! 9

JONATHAN DAVIES: Made to work so hard in defence but produced a solid display while his left peg is a valuable kicking option. Will be good to have Wales' best 13 back in the country next year. 7

JAMIE ROBERTS: Solid performance, especially when giving go-forward in the first half. Wales' defensive captain against the world's best attack but was as strong as ever. 7

HALLAM AMOS: Mixed bad at Twickenham and the same again. Lovely footwork and pass for Faletau’s try but then some poor defence against the fearsome Naholo. Tightened up after the break but will be under pressure from Anscombe. 6

DAN BIGGAR: Kicked nicely and distributed well. Managed the game nicely going into the final quarter and produced some nice touch-finders. 7

RHYS WEBB: Superb against the world's best 9 Smith. Lively throughout and superb support run to go over in the first half. Current Lions scrum-half. 8

GETHIN JENKINS: Turned back the clock with a wonderful display to justify his recall – clearly not ready for retirement just yet. Lack of scrums suited his energetic, mobile game. 8

KEN OWENS: Like Jenkins, rewarded Gatland’s call. Dynamic display and one super cover tackle on Naholo. Lineout fell apart when he went off. 8

SAMSON LEE: The Wales scrum was solid against a tight All Blacks unit. Comfortably Wales' number 3. Never going to be dynamic in the loose but improving. 6

BRADLEY DAVIES: Whole-hearted display against the Kiwis' formidable pairing. Great work ethic but should Charteris come in? I think so. 7

ALUN WYN JONES: His 100th Welsh cap and produced a typical AWJ performance - guts, determination and no shortage of quality. Lovely distribution in the move for Faletau's opener. 7

ROSS MORIARTY: Didn't really show his dynamism with ball in hand but showed he's keen to muck in. Wales missed Lydiate's defensive snap, however, with Moriarty missing seven tackles. 6

SAM WARBURTON: Has not had much rugby and it showed at times - he was good but not at his world-class best. Got through loads of work but will want to do more with ball in hand, like Cane and Savea. 7

TAULUPE FALETAU: Wonderful, quite wonderful. Another display to show how badly he’ll be missed at Rodney Parade. Kept his width for the opening try and then just went on and on. Big effort carry, superb in defence. 9
