NEW Zealand have made two changes to their side for Saturday's second Test against Wales with the world champions boosted by the return of influential lock Sam Whitelock and calling on the services of experienced full-back Israel Dagg, writes Chris Kirwan.

Crusaders forward Whitelock is back to form a formidable partnership with Brodie Retallick after missing last weekend's 39-21 victory in Auckland with a hamstring injury.

Dagg replaces Julian Savea, who scored a try but had a mixed evening at Eden Park, with Ben Smith moving from full-back to wing. Both Smith and Dagg will win their 50th caps.

Other than that it's as you were for the All Blacks with head coach Steve Hansen believing his side will hit top gear after benefitting from their first action since lifting the Webb Ellis Cup at Twickenham in October.

And the former Wales coach expects his old side to be stung by the midweek 40-7 humiliation at the hands of the Chiefs in Hamilton.

Hansen said: "Our performance in the first Test was very pleasing in a number of ways, especially how we kept our composure under pressure.

"However, there is an expectation that we will need to improve right across the board, with better accuracy, in both our attack and defence, combined with more physicality and intensity.

"We are expecting Wales to come out all guns blazing, particularly after what happened in the Chiefs game, so we will have to not only meet that response, but go to a higher level ourselves.

"Also, on behalf of the team, we would like to congratulate Bender (Ben Smith) and Izzy (Israel Dagg) on reaching their 50th Tests. It's a special achievement to play one Test, so to get 50 is a wonderful milestone."
