CROSS Keys captain Leon Andrews was presented with a framed jersey at the club's presentation evening on Friday after passing 200 games for the club, writes Chris Kirwan.

The 32-year-old arrived at Pandy Park from Cardiff in 2007 as a full-back and has turned into one of the Principality Premiership's most consistent performers in midfield.

Popular prop Richard Cornock was named as player of the year for 2015/16 while flanker Scott Matthews got the supporters' vote and wing Matthew Powell got the vote from his fellow players, as well as scooping most-improved player.

Newport Gwent Dragons and Wales Under-20s tighthead Leon Brown won most promising prospect while Wales 7s international Ethan Davies was recognised for finishing as top points scorer.

Outgoing treasurer Mike Jones was named as clubman of the year while Andrews was also given a special award by the supporters that benefited from his planning of the club's tour of Hong Kong.

Keys are preparing for the coming season and have arranged pre-season friendlies against Glamorgan Wanderers (away, Saturday, August 6), Abercarn and Treorchy (both at Pandy Park, Saturday, August 13), Old Redcliffians in Bristol (Saturday, August 20) and Llantrisant (home, Saturday, August 27).

They kick off their Premiership campaign against Swalec Championship champions Merthyr.
