BEDWAS' Robson Blake bolsters the Newport Gwent Dragons Premiership Select XV pack for their British and Irish Cup encounter with Ealing Trailfinders tomorrow afternoon fresh from being named as the top flight's player of the month.

The 21-year-old from Powys scooped the Principality Premiership honour for his exploits in helping the Bridge Field side make a super start to the season.

The tree surgeon, who signed for Bedwas from Bedlinog in the summer, gets a chance to impress the Dragons management against Ealing as number eight Harri Keddie as on Challenge Cup duty in Russia.

His club boss Steve Law has no doubt that his back row forward has the potential to be a big hit.

"Robson is a young man with a god given talent, he's got skill and been very effective in what we have achieved so far this season," he said. "When he plays well we have been able to play off him and achieved what we have wanted.

"If one of the regions invested in Robson Blake my opinion is he would be a top class player and he definitely has the standard to become a professional rugby player."

The Dragons welcome Ealing to Cross Keys' Pandy Park (kick-off 3pm) on the back of a 46-33 loss to Bedford, although they did rally to earn a consolation bonus point courtesy of their four tries.

Blake slots into the back row alongside clubmate Andrew Waite and captain Josh Skinner while Newport's John Lavender comes in at loosehead with Rhys Clarke of Ebbw Vale getting the nod at lock.

There is just one change behind the scrum, with Keys' Matthew Powell coming in for Pat Lewis on the wing.

Ealing, whose head coach is former Ebbw Vale supremo Alex Codling, include Cross Keys favourite James Cordy-Redden at full-back and ex-Newport and Dragons Academy scrum-half Josh Davies, who is backed up by former Dragon Alex Walker.

Lock Scott Andrews, who is on loan from the Dragons, starts in the second row alongside Pontypool old boy Sam Pailor.

The game is free for season tickets holders at the Dragons and the five Premiership clubs.
