CENTRE Jonathan Davies will return to the Scarlets from Clermont Auvergne on a dual contract with the Welsh Rugby Union.

The 27-year-old Lions ace left for France in the summer of 2014 but will return to home next season to reform his formidable midfield partnership with Scott Williams.

“I am delighted to have signed a national dual contract and to be returning to the Scarlets,” said Davies, who has won 48 caps but missed the World Cup through injury.

“I have immensely enjoyed my time in France and would like to thank Clermont Auvergne for the opportunity.

“The joint commitment between the WRU and regions is driving for success and I believe the time is right to return to Wales and signing a NDC is the best decision for me rugby wise.”

Last week Ospreys players Scott Baldwin, James King, Dan Baker and Rory Thornton were added to the previous list of twelve NDCs.

The players already contracted were Sam Warburton, Gareth Anscombe (both Cardiff Blues), Alun Wyn Jones, Dan Biggar, Rhys Webb, Dan Lydiate (all Ospreys), Scott Williams, Jake Ball, Samson Lee, Rhodri Jones (all Scarlets), Tyler Morgan and Hallam Amos (both Newport Gwent Dragons).
