A man who is believed to have been stabbed in the stomach in a fight outside a bar is in a serious condition, police have said.

The 25-year-old was wounded outside the Coco Lounge in George Street, Nottingham city centre, shortly after 1am on Sunday,

Nottinghamshire Police have put up a cordon around the scene which they expect to be in place for most of the morning while they carry out inquiries.

A police spokesman said the victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with a suspected stab wound to the abdomen.

The suspect is a black man around 5ft 8in tall.
