Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath E2/8 Wimborne
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from proceeding along part of Footpath E2/8, from the junction with Cowgrove Road to footpath E49/5, a distance of approximately 110 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 3rd November 2020 for a period of 26 weeks initially. But can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
This closure is required due to there being deep excavations within the development which are adjacent to footpath E2/8 and due to the potential of the ground collapsing which would prove a risk to the general public.
