THERE are signs that the housing market is starting to recover in parts of Gwent.
Figures released by the Land Registry show that although average house prices are still down year on year, February’s figures were up on the previous month in areas like Blaenau Gwent (up more than three per cent on January) and Torfaen (up 0.16 per cent), and holding steady in other areas.
While there is still a long way to go, a number of Gwent estate agents told the Argus that confidence appears to be returning to the market, with more house-hunters going through their doors.
And developer Taylor Wimpey said it had sold 11 homes at the City Vision development in Rodney Parade in February.
