A DOG owner from Caldicot has praised the "outstanding" local community after receiving an outpouring of support in the search for her missing dog.
Sue Jones was re-united with her dog, Dewi, XXX days after he went missing, thanks in large part to a widespread search in and around Caldicot, directed through appeals on the group's community Facebook pages.
Dewi ran off on November 4 after being scared by the noise of some fireworks.
Mrs Jones' appeal on social media gained a massive following in the town, and Dewi was found on November 6.
"I just want to say a massive thank you to everybody," Ms Jones said. "It was an absolutely phenomenal response – I'm so chuffed with the support we've had.
"It was outstanding, the community all came together to look for him."
This week, Ms Jones and Dewi have arranged to meet and say thank you to the man who found him.
