A POPULAR music festival is returning to Pontypool this bank holiday weekend.

Ffli Stock 5 sees a host of acoustic bands and artists take to the stage at the Dragonffli to raise money for charity.

Headline acts include Dead at 27, Crisis Talks and Stay Voiceless.

The festival, now in its fifth year, will raise money in memory of Tom Walker, a Monmouth School for Boys pupil who died last June, aged 13, from leukaemia.

Organiser and venue owner Nick Byrne said that he was looking forward to hosting the event.

He said: "It’s great to see Ffli Stock in its fifth year.

"It’s always a great turn out and raises a good sum of money for charity.

"It’s an event I really enjoy organising. People come from all over, and the more support for grassroots venues the better. The support will enable us to keep the doors open.

"People can discover some great up and coming acts and bands and have a great time."

As well as the music, the venue also runs a raffle, which in previous years has seen prizes donated by from Noel Gallagher and Slaves.

A quiz will also be held on Sunday from 5pm.

It will be a 7pm start on Friday, and a 5pm start on Saturday and Sunday.

Entry is free, and charitable donations can be made on the door at the event.

The full line up is available on The Dragonffli’s Facebook page.
