NEWPORT County AFC have released former Wales international Andrew Crofts as well as defender Tyler Forbes and winger Will Randall following Saturday’s League Two play-off final defeat.

None of the three featured in the loss to Tranmere Rovers at Wembley, although Crofts was an unused substitute.

The veteran midfielder, who turns 35 tomorrow, made just 12 appearances in an injury-ravaged season with the Exiles.

Forbes played 20 times before he moved on loan to Salford City in March.

Randall’s County career lasted a mere 19 minutes as he appeared as a substitute at Colchester United on the day he signed in March and never featured again.

Defenders David Pipe and Fraser Franks have retired, while Regan Poole, Tyreeq Bakinson and Harry McKirdy have seen their loans expire.

Apprentices Liam Bishop, Callum Beckett, Tom Hillman, Owen Taylor and Lucas Murray have also been released.

“The club would like to thank all of the players for their service during the course of the 2018-2019 season and wish all those who are departing in the best with the next stage of their career,” said a club statement.
