A PLANE believed to be Air Force One, which carries the president of the USA, was photographed flying over Chepstow on Monday by keen-eyed amateur snapper David Cole.

Although tough to tell from 23,000 feet, the plane looks likely to be one of two highly-customised Boeing aircraft which ferries the president around the world.

“I completely forgot the president was coming until I got up at about 7am and turned the TV on,” Mr Cole said.

“On BBC One, they said they were waiting for his plane, so being a avid plane spotter [I went] straight on with the radar and spotted two presidential aircraft – one in South West England...the other over Swansea.”

Mr Cole went outside with his Canon camera and only had to wait eight minutes before the plane appeared through a gap in the clouds.

“I only had about 10 seconds, so I was a lucky chap,” he said.

Mr Cole works in a nearby supermarket warehouse but has been a keen photographer since leaving school 40 years ago. He said he enjoyed photographing wildlife, motorsports, and castles – as well as planes – and regularly attends airshows.

Air Force One can describe any air force aircraft carrying the president.

It is possible that the plane Mr Cole photographed was carrying Donald Trump, or it may have been the accompanying vehicle carrying the First Family.

Donald Trump is visiting the UK this week on a three-day state visit.
