An "explosion" has been reported near the A4042 roundabout in Pontypool.

It's not yet clear what caused the explosion, but police have confirmed the incident is on-going.

Reporter Dan Barnes is at the scene.

He can see two police cars, two ambulances and an emergency services helicopter in the sky.

Fire service equipment is also laid out on the road.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have declined to comment further, but have confirmed that they are at the scene.

Gwent Police have tweeted their earlier statement:

"Officers are currently responding to a report of an explosion at a property in the Coed Camlas area, Pontypool. Emergency services including South Wales Fire and Rescue and South Wales Ambulance are currently on the scene. We will update you when we have further information."
