THIS is the sight at Doffcocker Lodge where 'laughing gas' cartridges have been found dumped on the car park.

It is the latest beauty spot to be blighted by the dumping of the canisters which are used as a source of nitrous oxide, a psychoative substance used as an illegal high, usually via a balloon, as a recreational drug.

Nitrous oxide or NOS slows down your brain and your body’s responses and can produce feelings of euphoria, relaxation and calmness as well as fits of giggles, which give it the name laughing gas.

Nitrous oxide is covered by the 2016 Psychoactive Substances Act, which means it’s illegal to give away or sell for its psychoactive effect.

Doffcocker Lodge is popular with joggers, dog walkers and those watching the local wildlife.

It is only yards away from the Triangle Methodist Church and Hall and backs on to cottages.
