NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn celebrated a perfect away performance as his side triumphed 2-0 at Swindon Town.

Goals in each half from Mark O’Brien and Jamille Matt sealed another statement win against one of the biggest teams in League Two.

And the three points lifted County to sixth in the table, just two points behind leaders Exeter City.

“It was an outstanding performance,” said Flynn.

“The game-plan worked to a tee, we scored from a corner we worked on in training and the whole game went the way we knew it would.

“We knew where their weaknesses were and, thankfully, we got a goal from it.”

O’Brien headed in from Robbie Willmott’s corner on 38 minutes and Matt volleyed in the second from a cross by substitute Padraig Amond on 82 minutes.

“The players kept at it,” added the Exiles boss. “I can’t fault their shape, their discipline, their desire, their work ethic.

“They were absolutely spot-on, to a man and I’m delighted with three points against a very good Swindon team.”
