FORMER Barry Comprehensive pupil Colin Walters has so far raised £370 for Prostate Cancer UK after successfully completing the Cardiff half marathon.

Mr Walters, 43, ran the 13.1-mile course in one hour 59 minutes, on Sunday, October 6, and is still welcoming post-race donations in aid of the charitable cause.

The dad-of-two was running in memory of his dad Trevor who died after a battle with cancer in April this year – and for every brother, son, and father fighting the condition.

The Royal Mail postie and dad-of-two said: “That was probably the hardest 13 miles I've ever run.

“It wasn’t the time I wanted, but I really don't care just.

“I was just happy I finished it.

“I was more than happy to call it a day on eight miles.”

He added: “Thank you all that has sponsored me.

“I'm overwhelmed by it all.

“Thank you to Ceri, Erin Morgan, Verity Birch, Penny Carr and my lush wife Lisa Walters and kids Sam and Evie for coming down to support me to the end and not forgetting my awesome buddy Andrew Birch who came back for me to finish it off.

“Without you I would have failed.

“I will never forget.”
