NEW Forest hotel Burley Manor has been named ‘Best Countryside Hotel’ at the 37th Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence, held in London this week.

The Awards for Excellence are created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across Condé Nast Johansens’ recommended properties and are a trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and travel professionals alike.

Following its refurbishment in 2015, Burley Manor has continued to charm guests through its doors with its colourful eclectic rooms, Mediterranean inspired restaurant and charming Butler’s Pantry, relaxing treatment rooms and outdoor swimming pool. Visitors can enjoy being located at the heart of the New Forest National Park, with many rooms offering views over the neighbouring red deer park and the restaurant showcases an exciting and ever-changing seasonal menu to tantalise taste buds.

This year, Burley Manor launched their new 15-mile menu, where all the ingredients are sourced within 15 miles or less from the estate, pampered guests in the pop-up Temple Tipi which is now in its second year, giving guests the chance to breathe in the great outdoors whilst enjoying a Temple spa treatment, and hosted their first foodie festival in the summer. Burley Manor has continued to be innovative since its opening and will continue to surprise and excite their guests in the new year, when the team’s vision will be one step closer to fruition for a very exciting launch.

Adam Wilson, General Manager of Burley Manor, said: “Every year, there are only a small handful of properties that make it to the top of the awards, and we are so pleased and excited that Burley Manor has been recognised by Condé Nast Johansens as the best countryside hotel. It is a real testament to all the hard work and commitment from our entire team, from the chefs in the kitchen to the housekeeping team, that go above and beyond for every guest. We want our guests to feel as if they are at home in the countryside when they stay at the Manor, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, so we greatly appreciate this recognition and will continue to offer the best service and experience for all our guests.”

Ben Johnson, Executive Head Chef of Burley Manor, said: “Along with the whole team at Burley Manor, we are delighted to win this award as our location in the heart of the New Forest is hugely important to the restaurant. Our restaurant really is at the heart of the Burley Manor experience and our menus remain true to the seasons and local producers, as we continue to surprise and delight guests every time they visit. It is great to be recognised for our team’s dedication and passion for delivering the best food, made with the finest ingredients, in a beautiful setting.”
