HUNDREDS of people took part in Remembrance Day services across Torfaen on Sunday.

Armed Forces veterans, cadets and the general public turned out across the county's cenotaphs and war memorials to pay their respects for those who served, survived and died during the First and Second World War.

Wreaths were laid by veterans to honour their comrades, community figures and the general public as part of the annual show of respect.

A touching moment happened at the Blaenavon service where two of the Blaenavon RFC mini rugby team - Rylee Williams and Zac Billings, both five - ran to hug army veteran Don Whent, whose stories they loved to hear on his visits to the club, before laying their wreaths on behalf of the club.
