STUDENTS of all ages at the Haberdashers’ family of schools in Monmouth have put on a string of entertaining performances and events as the autumn term nears its end.
Young pupils at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery drew laughter, tears and cheers from the audience when they performed their Christmas nativity, An Angel’s Wish, at the Blake Theatre on December 6.

That same evening, the glow of candles illuminated St Mary’s Priory Church for Monmouth School Girls’ Prep’s traditional Christingle Service, where pupils impressed with choral performances and recitals.
The previous night, a team of sixth-form students from the girls’ and boys’ schools had battled it out against staff in a fundraising general knowledge quiz.
The teachers team eventually prevailed in the University Challenge-themed quiz, which had been organised by the schools’ senior prefect teams in aid of the Raven House Trust charity, which provides for people in need throughout the Gwent region.
And a few days earlier, pupils from the schools’ orchestras had raised money for local good causes with an impressive charity concert, comprising classical and modern pieces.
