POLICE officers were called to reports of a man with a gun in Salisbury - but it turned out to be a false alarm.
Wiltshire Police says officers were called at 9.10am after a member of the public said they saw a man with a firearm in the Churchfields area of Salisbury, firing up into trees.
Teams rushed to the scene, but after a thorough search was carried out, nobody was located.
It comes after several readers contacted the Journal worried about seeing police vans rushing to the city.
