PUPILS and staff at Coed Eva Primary School may not have seen each other since March, but have found a creative way to keep connected.
Unable to physically meet, pupils and staff have been decorating rocks and adding them to a school 'pebble snake' outside the front gates while out on their daily exercise.
The idea was suggested by teaching assistant Amber Jones, and there is now more than 130 stones making up the snake.
Executive headteacher for Coed Eva and Blenheim Road primary schools, Paul Keane, said the activity had brought the school closer together during lockdown.

"It gives the children a chance to touch base when they are walking past," he said. "It's a lovely way and a sensory way for the kids to connect with each other.
"It's hard teaching at home, even when you are a teacher, so we are trying to support families as much as we can. Painting a pebble is a nice activity to do that doesn't involve English or Maths.

"It's a nice example of the community coming together and keeping in touch.
"I only joined in January, so it's nice for me to learn more about the community too."
