The winners of Pontypool Community Councils 2021 Spring/New Beginnings Photography competition are:

1st Leanne Hemburrow from Blaenavon "Ewe and Lamb"

With spring upon us, there is no wonder Leanne Hemburrow's photo of "Ewe and Lamb" has won the competition. There is nothing more Welsh than a fluffy ewe and her baby in the Welsh countryside.

In Wales there are over 9.5 million sheep, with Wales' population of over 3 million people there are three sheep for every one person!

Congratulations Leanne. Animal lovers everywhere will agree that this photo is undeniably adorable.

2nd Craig Titchener from Garndiffaith "Spring landscape"

There is something about the "Spring landscape" which makes you want to put your walking boots on to go for a late night hike. The cool and warm colours contrast adds to the perception of depth, as if you could jump into the photo and explore the scenery as the sunsets.

3rd Jamie Preston from Cwmbran "Spring Crocus"

This photo has the wow factor. Everything you look at it you see notice something new and different. The flowers do stand out against the bright colours, but what makes this photo so unique is the black background. The colour arrangement is phenomenal.
