SIX new cases were recorded in Torfaen across the last seven days as the local authority’s case rate continues to fall.
The rolling seven-day figure, up to May 6 - the latest available figure from Public Health Wales - stands at 6.4 per 100,000 people.
This is slightly lower than the previous week’s figure - up to April 28 - which was 7.4 per 100,000 people.
Blaenau Gwent (1.4 per 100,000) has the lowest rolling weekly case rate in Gwent and Wales, to May 6.
Caerphilly (5.5) has the eighth lowest rate in Wales, while Monmouthshire (6.3) has the 11th lowest rate of Wales’ 22 council areas
The Wales-wide rate for the week to May 6, is 8.8 per 100,000
Seventeen council areas in Wales currently have rolling weekly case rates of below 10 per 100,000, with only Newport (25.2 per 100,000) having a rate above 20 per 100,000.
The seven days up to May 6 saw 62 cases recorded in Gwent, out of 277 in Wales. These included 39 in Newport, 10 in Caerphilly, six in both Torfaen and Monmouthshire and one in Blaenau Gwent.
Gwent has now gone 23 days without a new confirmed coronavirus death.
