A PROPERTY in Monmouth will remain closed to ensure it is safe following a fire yesterday.
Multiple crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the three-storey property on Monk Street, battling a fire for seven hours.
They attended following a call at 2.20pm on Tuesday, September 21.
The fire caused significant damage to the roof. Crews evacuated all in the property and everyone was accounted for. No injuries were reported. The crews stood down at 9.33pm.

A spokeswoman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 2:20pm on Tuesday the 21st of September 2021 we received reports of a domestic fire on Monk Street in Monmouth.
“Multiple crews attended the scene using specialist equipment to extinguish the fire which had caused significant damage to the roof of a three-storey property.
“All persons were accounted for and evacuated by crews with no injuries were reported.
“A stop message was received at 9:33pm. The site will remain closed as a precaution to ensure that the area is made safe.
"The premises has been reinspected by fire service personnel this morning and will be reinspected this afternoon (22nd September 2021)."
