STAND-UP comedienne Elise Harris looks set for stardom after winning BBC3 talent competition Upstaged.

The Abersychan woman spent 40 hours across seven days in a glass box, entertaining crowds in Bristol, and viewers across the UK.

Ms Harris, who is part of the ten-strong group, YouStage Vloggers, uploads videos onto the website YouTube.

The group won Upstaged presented by Radio One DJ Scott Mills when they beat Scottish singer Don 1977 in the final on Sunday.

Ms Harris, 25, will get £1,000 of the £10,000 prize money. She said: "I really enjoyed the experience and it feels amazing to win.

"I hope that winning Upstaged will be another step on the ladder for me. Someday I would like to be famous.

"I'm going to use the prize money to fund my performance at the Edinburgh Festival this year.

"My family is proud of me, they've been telling everyone they know about Upstaged."

Ms Harris lives in London doing stand-up on the comedy circuit and has performed at the Edinburgh Festival for the last two years.

She said: "I think we kept the viewers entertained by combining our talents. We did things like singing, origami and presenting, as well as comedy, of course."
