GARDENERS from Monmouthshire are being invited to a free talk and demonstration by BBC Radio 2’s Allotment Doctor Terry Walton in June.

Mr Walton, who has a weekday lunchtime slot on Jeremy Vine’s show giving tips and advice on growing your own, will host the talk on edible borders at Raglan Garden Centre on Saturday, June 6 at 2pm.

Managing Director of the award-winning garden centre, Martin Davies, explained: “Terry will be at the garden centre to host a special talk focusing on growing vegetables and herbs in borders.

“Terry visited the garden centre in March this year and was a huge success with our customers so we’re delighted he’s coming back.”

Terry, who recently appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World, said: “Grow your own is becoming more and more important this year especially in the current economic climate and once people have tasted their own home-grown food, they no longer want pre-packaged, mass produced, tasteless vegetables."

The event is free but those wishing to attend will need to call the garden centre on 01291 690751 to book as places are limited.
