THE MP for Monmouth has spent part of his parliamentary recess by doing his bit to help out with Olympic security.

David Davies posted an image of himself serving as a special constable in London to the social networking site Twitter on Tuesday.

The image appeared to showMr Davies at a train station.

Referring to the row over security at the event, he said: “In the absence of G4S, I am attending the Olympics inmy other capacity.

The MP added: “No holiday yet!”

Mr Davies, who is also chairman of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee, previously helped out with policing at the London riots last August.
