INSURANCE firm Three Castle Cover hope it’s game, set and match in terms of its business development after launching its new cover at the largest tennis tournament in the UK.

Three Castles Cover was main sponsor of the 99-year-old Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament, which was staged between August 18 and 24.

The three-year sponsorship deal has seen the event renamed The Three Castles Cover Hunstanton Lawn tennis Tournament.

Three Castles Cover signed up its first customer at the start of the tournament.

Three Castles Cover chief executive David Harlow, a keen tennis player, said: "The MD of one of our largest insurance underwriters, Richard Coleman, of Archipelago, is on the committee of the tennis tournament and has a holiday home in Norfolk.

“Richard mentioned that Hunstanton Tennis Tournament was looking for sponsors so it seemed a natural synergy for us to get involved. We’ve agreed to sponsor the event for three years which takes us through its centenary year, 2020, next year.”

Norfolk, where the tennis tournament has be staged for almost 100 years, is regarded as fertile ground for helping the start-up insurance business get off to a solid start.

David said: “For one thing the county has a wealth of people, with holiday homes which they need insurance cover. The socio-economic make up of the area also fits our target market perfectly. We’re hoping that the tennis tournament will help us to get our name out there and prove to be a perfect match.”

Keen tennis player David, who competed in the doubles with Richard Coleman, Said: “We enjoyed the tennis and presented prizes at the end of the tournament, meeting lots of potential customers along the way.”

Three Castles Cover has agreed to donate £100 for every new insurance policy sold during the week of the tennis tournament. The money raised will go towards the purchase of a new sharp-bladed lawn mower for the club.

Established in 1920 the tennis tournament, the largest in the UK, takes place across 38 tennis courts over seven days. The tournament, which attracts more than 1,000 players, is open to entrants of all ages and abilities from six year olds upwards.

Three Castles Cover has been developed by insurance and technology group PH Innovate. The insurance business provides combined insurance for homes, including investment properties cars, worldwide travel and pets all under one policy.

Three Castles Cover, which has been in gestation for 18 months, was developed in house at the firm’s headquarters at Mamhilad Park Estate, in Torfaen.
