The eagerly-anticipated annual Lloyds Bank Rugby lunch supporting St David's Hospice Care was a huge success again this year.

Staged for the past 16 years in the run up the Six Nations, the event fills the main hall at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens.

The event, which is a major fundraiser for the Newport-based hospice charity, has raised more than £260,000 for a variety of local charities over the years, said Paul Williams, area director Cardiff and South East Wales for Lloyds Banking Group.

Lloyds Bank match funds all the money raised on the day of the annual lunch.

The speaker this year was Wales, British Lions and Bridgend centre Steve Fenwick, the comedian was Ferndale's Phil Howe with the event compered by BBC Wales' Scrum V Live, Phil Steele.
