Chepstow-based Reid Lifting has been shortlisted for the Small Business of the Year title in the Welsh Business Awards.

The company, which is based on the Newhouse Farm Industrial Estate, specialises in the design and manufacture of aluminium portable lifting and access systems. With operations in Europe and the US and a customer list which includes some of the UK’s biggest vehicle and aerospace manufacturers, it is a small business with big ambitions.

Reid is no stranger to the awards scene, having been recognised for its contributions to the lifting industry with four Queens Awards for Innovation and International Trade and a place on the Sunday Times WorldFirst list as one of the UK’s leading SME exporters.

Now, the Reid team is getting ready for the 2020 Welsh Business Awards, which take place on March 5 at Cardiff City Hall.

The business is up against firms from across the South and Mid Wales Chamber of Commerce region employing fewer than 75 full time staff.

Reid's managing director Simon Luke said: “We’re very excited to be on the shortlist and are in excellent company, alongside some of the most innovative and successful businesses in Wales.”
