The Dragons of Newport business networking group has made a fresh start to 2020 by announcing a change of venues for its weekly meetings and quarterly Big Breakfast events.

The independent networking group will be hosting its weekly meetings on a Wednesday at the refurbished Ridgeway Bistro Bar, with its quarterly Big Breakfasts in the Bisley Suite at Rodney Parade.

Dan Smith, of M4 Property, a founding member of the group, said: “We have previously enjoyed meeting at The Ridgeway and are delighted to be welcomed back by the new management team.

"The venue lends itself perfectly for networking and the breakfasts are excellent. We are looking forward to continuing to achieve our main purpose which is to provide structured, informal networking meetings where participants not only receive business opportunities for themselves, they are encouraged to do the same for others.”

Tom Musto, who bought The Ridgeway Bistro Bar last year, is very pleased to welcome the Dragons back.

He said: “Since returning to The Ridgeway I have made a point of renewing previous connections. Knowing many of the Dragons members from my time as the manager here, I am delighted they have returned.”

The Dragons of Newport is an independent, not-for-profit networking group. Formed almost a decade ago, the group now has almost 30 members who attend weekly meetings. It attracts on average 120 local businesses to its Big Breakfasts.

The first Big Breakfast of 2020 is being sponsored by security company Secure-IT.

It will take place in Rodney Parade on Wednesday, March 5, starting at 7am.

Michael Tennant, chartered trade mark attorney and director at Tennant IP, will be the guest speaker and be providing his expert advice regarding trade mark law and how businesses can protect themselves.
