CashCalc, a financial technology company based in Newport, has been named Best Technology Provider for the second year in a row.

The award, from Professional Adviser, recognises the company’s impact on the financial advice industry.

The market-leading firm, which has its head office in the Crindau area of Newport, develops cashflow planning software for financial advisers.

Founded in 2014, CashCalc has quickly grown to become the most used cashflow planning software in the UK amongst financial advisers, with more than 13,000 users across the country.

The award celebrates technology providers who help advisers deliver exceptional outcomes for clients, with the winners being decided by an independent judging panel of financial sector experts.

Director Ray Adams said: “It was brilliant to come away with a win, let alone for the second year running. We were pitted up against some very tough competition, so this really is fantastic news.

“We’ve gone from strength to strength during our short time in business, and I’m sure this will continue long into the future. What our small team has helped accomplish demonstrates the potential of Welsh tech, and certainly shows the importance of tapping into local talent pools here in Wales.”

Lead developer Tom Newton said: “This award is testament to the superb team we have behind the scenes who work on CashCalc. We’ve developed a culture where we continue to push the boundaries and strive to make things easier and better for our users, which is a big factor in our success.”

Hosted by the Professional Adviser industry magazine at its annual awards in London, CashCalc’s sister company Niche also walked away with an award after being named one of the top 14 employers in the financial advice industry.
