To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the St Pierre Golf Club 180 people were invited to attend a drinks reception. These included past captains, past members with notable achievements, local dignitaries & current club officials.

During the celebrations on Sunday, May 6th, speeches were made by Club Captain Jim Cook, Ladies Captain Su Coombe, Club President John Holland & the St Pierre Hotel General Manager Richard Lansberry.

Over the years the golf club has collected golf memorabilia dating back to 1962 which was displayed throughout the celebrations, this included maps of the original course layout and souvenirs from past tournaments that have been held at St Pierre, such as The Dunlop Masters.

All the guests were then treated to a sumptuous afternoon tea which had been prepared by the ladies section. Proceeds of the cake sales went to The Seve Foundation & Cancer Research Wales.

On Monday May 7th, St Pierre hosted a Members Gala Golf Competition involving 180 players from all sections, they played progressive bowmaker format. All the players were charged a 1960's entrance fee of a guinea and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all that participated.
