CALDICOT Town Ladies FC are celebrating after they won the Welsh Women’s League Cup at Penybont on Sunday, writes Bob Cypher.
Town beat Cardiff club Splott Albion 3-1 in the final. thanks to goals from Ashleigh Harris and Rianne Jones (2).
However, there was disappointment for Severn Tunnel LFC after they lost by the same score to Cardiff Bluebelles in the final of the Alun Evans Cup, Jade Williams scoring Tunnel’s goal.
Tunnel's skipper Nat Rostron said she was proud of the team's performance.
"Bluebelles didn't have it all their own way but we just didn't take our chances, unfortunately," she wrote on social media.
"But it was a great achievement to get to the final. We win together and we lose together and we are still holding our heads high. I'm proud of the team."
