THE ever-popular Caribbean Race Night brings July to a close this Friday – but there is still plenty to look forward to this summer.

The team at Chepstow Racecourse are gearing up for a busy August – with plenty happening on and off the track.

The Green Gathering Festival takes place from 1st-4th August – bringing four days of low impact living in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Intimate solar stages will showcase up-and-coming acts, legendary favourites, DJs, poets, activists and spellbinding raconteurs.

There are also magicians and mystics, off-grid solutions and co-operatives, crafts, permaculture, campaigns, healing, kids’ activities and teen spaces, a stone circle, open mic spaces and dance workshops – complemented by affordable bars and ethical eats.

August 10th sees the return of The Chepstow Agricultural Show. The show is an annual celebration of the best of our local community - rural trades, talents and tastes.

The show is open to all. Whether you are looking to enter one of the many classes, to showcase your goods and services, or just to enjoy a wonderful family day out - you'll receive a warm welcome.

Tickets are available on the gate for this – although, it will be cash only.

It is then back to racing – with three race days in the space of eleven days.

Gin And Jazz Race Night takes place on Thursday, August 15th. There will be live music from local Jazz band The Hipcats throughout the evening. The following Thursday afternoon – 22nd August – sees the flat course host a seven-race card.

Tickets for both meetings will be £16 in advance and £21 on the day.

The Bank Holiday Free Fun Fair and Dinosaurs Family Race Day is on Monday, 26th August. As well as the seven horse races, there will be plenty of entertainment to keep the whole family amused.

For the first time at Chepstow Racecourse, you’ll be able to meet a giant Raptor and Triceratops, as well as two baby dinosaurs. We will also have lots of other dinosaur activities in our Jurassic Marquee - including giant dinosaur eggs, jungle plants, dinosaur bones, small eggs, hatching dinosaur eggs and Ranger Training.

We will have more fun fair rides than ever before, creating both a 'Kids Village' & 'Teen Village' so there really are rides suitable for the entire family!

We have: Bungee Trampolines, Mini Planes, Tea-Cups, Race-o-Rama, Monster Truck Ride, Speed Booster, Dodgems and Dance Zone.

Early bird adult tickets are £15 for this great day out and remember, kids aged 17 & under go free, parking is free and you can bring a picnic - no alcohol.
