Miskin Manor 1sts (209-9) lost to Sudbrook 1sts (210-3)

A WEEK after hitting a mammoth score at Mill Lane, Sudbrook’s Scott O’Leary starred with the ball at Miskin Manor, writes Bob Cypher.

After winning the toss, the home skipper decided to bat first and may have been regretting that decision after Ryan Hudson bowled one opener for a duck and Dean Wallace trapped the other lbw for 20 runs.

Despite the setbacks, Miskin rallied and significant contributions of 42, 57 and 32 by middle order batsmen were carrying the home side to a defendable total.

But O’Leary struck three times, having Daniel Hay caught by visiting skipper Jamie Watkins, before Hudson held a catch to dismiss Matthew Jones and Watkins held another catch to give O’Leary his third scalp.

Wallace was the most economical of Sudbrook’s bowlers, taking 2-20 with three maidens in his 10 overs, while Mitchell Slape, Hudson and Watkins took a wicket apiece.

In their reply, Matthew Kinchin and Ross Lewis scored 31 and 37 respectively before Matt Jones (67 not out) and O’Leary (67) steered Sudbrook to victory.
