Abergavenny 1sts (79 all out) lost to Sudbrook 1sts (83-2) by eight wickets

SUDBROOK kept their winning tun going thanks to a fine five-for performance by James Hussey, writes Bob Cypher.

The home side’s opener Andrew Jones retired hurt and Hussey had skipper Will Glenn caught by Scott O’Leary after Jones’ replacement Adam Harrison was run out by Jonathan Lewis.

Three more wickets fell for single-figure contributions and although Gareth Powell made 13 not out, he lost partners for ducks.

Hussey ended with figures of 5-24 with one maiden while Dean Wallace provided excellent support taking 3-13 with five maidens in his nine overs.

Matt Kinchin and Ross Lewis opened Sudbrook’s run chase, both falling for 12 runs apiece, but Greg Shaw (12 not out) and O’Leary (40 not out) saw the visitors to victory in the 18th over.
