Pentyrch 2nds (139 all out) lost to Undy & Magor (142-6) by four wickets
BOWLER Tom Bond claimed a five-for as Undy & Magor won their last match of the summer at Pentyrch, writes Bob Cypher.
Bond removed the home team’s number three Aidan Rutherford four runs shy of a half century after openers Owen Oldroyd and David Tame had been removed by Paul Smith and Arjun Calidas for 18 and 12 respectively.
The next three wickets fell cheaply thanks to Smith (3-24) and Pete Charrett (2-20 with one maiden) and despite a couple of low double-figure scores the innings ended in the 39th over.
Bond ended with 5-17 and one maiden in 5.2 overs.
In reply U&M were hit early on as skipper Harry James fell for 17 and Calidas and Luke Farley went for single-figure totals.
But Josh James steadied the ship with 22 and Steve Hepple led the charge for the line with a run-a-ball 40 to clinch a mid-table position.
