Winger Elliot Frewen was named as Newport’s player of the season by his teammates.

The speedster, who will be returning for a tenth campaign at Rodney Parade, scored five tries in 15 appearances before the Welsh Rugby Union cancelled the season because of coronavirus.

Frewen won the award voted for by his peers while forward Andrew Mann landed the honour from the coaching team.

The 30-year-old, who has also re-signed for the Black and Ambers, was an ever-present at either lock or blindside in all 16 fixtures.

Try of the season went to livewire back Jonny Morris for finishing off a superb move that started in the Newport 22 in their clash with Pontypridd at Rodney Parade, Harry Griffiths and Luke Crane providing the assists.
