NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn says he is happy to be playing attractive football compared to last season.

Appearing on football highlights show EFL on Quest, the County boss was full of praise for his side and the way they have embraced the new, more expressive, playing style.

“We’ve changed the style of play, we are now possession based,"he said. "We are creating a lot of chances, a lot more than we did last season. Because we needed to improve”

"The principles of keep fighting and keep working hard will always stay but it’s nice to see us playing some attractive football as well."

Flynn siad that he is delighted about wealth of young welsh talent in his current Newport County squad.

The football being played at County this season has no doubt lead to the Wales call-ups for Josh Sheehan and Tom King.

“Josh Sheehan had his first welsh cap, I’m made up for him," said Flynn.

"Tom King is in the squad as well, Brandon Cooper and Aaron Lewis have played as well in the 21’s as well.”
