Ffwrrwm Ishta is the place to go when you want to give yourself a well-deserved treat.

Having previously enjoyed an evening meal at this tasteful little establishment I decided to give lunch a try.

We opted for the set menu, which offers good value for money, and went for the three-course choice.

For starters I had tomato and lentil soup and my companion chose asparagus - very tasty and satisfying - although we still had room for more.

For the second course I had grilled Barnsley lamb chop served on crushed minted new potatoes and decorated with a swirl of reduced balsamic dressing.

My companion went for honey and herb glazed duck leg on mash with port and rosemary sauce.

Both dishes were delicious, but the meat was a little on the tough side.

The main meals were served with a panache of steamed vegetables - plenty for the two of us, but we just had to try a side order of fried cauliflower cheese fritters, which were a real treat.

For dessert we had fruits of the forest creme Brulee and rhubarb and custard panacotta. They were creamy and melted in the mouth.

The set menu cost £12.95 and changes periodically.

The side dish was £1.95. With the drinks the total came to £27.85.
