THE female detective who "doesn't do small talk" pulled on the hem of her patterened, Scandinavian jumper.
The mystery was deepening - just who had murdered 1970s pop star Sven Svensson with a nordic walking pole, where was "the blonde one" from Swedish super group Fabba, and just how much wool had gone into the knitted home of the one with brown curly hair and sky-high, silver platform boots?
And would she ever get a change of knitwear?
Lipservice Theatre served us up one of the most surreal evenings of our lives with their "self-assembly" crime thriller inspired by TV programmes like The Killing, The Bridge and Wallander.
There was, of course, a large nod to Ikea, too.
Performers Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding raced ably through a hilarious smorgasbord of characters - including two moose getting drunk on fermented apples, the detective and her hapless male sidekick, and various pop band members.
There were some moments I shall never forget. And although I will avoid spoilers to ruin the fun of those who catch the show at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on March 19, I have to mention the show contains a most bizarre and side-splitting knitted re-enaction of a medical procedure.
I also have to leave you wondering just how they created a knitted firework display.
To find out, you'll just have to go and see it for yourselves. I can thoroughly recommend it.
