THE Met Office has declared today the warmest Hallowe'en on record, with the mercury hitting 22.5 degrees C in parts of the UK.
The previous record of 20 degrees C was seen in Dartford, England, in 1968.
Temperatures across Gwent today range between 19 degrees C in Chepstow and 16 degrees C in Ponytpool.
The long-term average October temperature from 1981 to 2010 was 9.5 degrees C.
Temperatures are expected to fall next week.
