MONMOUTHSHIRE Show is expected to attract large crowds of farming enthusiasts to the Monmouth countryside tomorrow.

The event, which dates back to the 17th century, attracts around 20,000 visitors a year and a similar number are expected to descend upon the town's showground.

The show's big attraction for this year will be the Stampede Stunt Company, who will be performing stunts as well as a jousting competition on horseback.

Other exhibitions include scurry racing, show jumping, the inter-hunt relay and the Grand Parade of all livestock and horses.

The show also boasts one of the largest one-day open dog shows in Wales, boasting more than 1000 entries in nearly 200 classes for varying breeds.

Aside from the displays and competitions, visitors can enjoy a shopping mall, food hall, craft marquee and hundreds of trading stands.

Gates will open at 9am and the show is expected to finish at around 6pm.

Admission at the gate will cost £14 for adults, £12 for seniors, and £6 for children.

Entry for students or members of the Young Farmer's Club costs £6 while there is also a £35 family ticket option.

Advance tickets are available online until midnight tonight from monmouthshow.ticketsrv.co.uk
