A MAN and a woman were ordered to hand over money while being threatened with weapons during a burglary at their Cwmbran home.
The man was left with injuries and a bruised shoulder when five or six unknown men forced their way into the house in The Highway, Croesyceiliog on Thursday night.
Both residents had been in the kitchen when the break-in took place, with the man now at home recovering with his family after receiving hospital treatment.
The burglars stole cash from the house before driving away in the direction of the M4 eastbound in a blue Audi which had tinted windows.
All of the men had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing – however one of the men wore a navy jacket with a distinctive silver or white letter ‘W’ on the chest.
Detective Inspector Bob Toghill said: "This was a particularly nasty incident where people were threatened in their own home which has left them understandably very shaken.
"We are investigating this incident and are urging anyone who may have seen this vehicle or the offenders to contact us."
Anyone who has any information should call 101 quoting log 494 16/11/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
