A HOMELESS 18-year-old Abergavenny woman has been fined £50 by Abergavenny magistrates after admitting being drunk and disorderly .

Amy Lisa Watson, who is currently living in a friend's greenhouse, pleaded guilty to the offence which took place on the night of November 3. The court heard that officers were called to Marsh Court in Abergavenny at around 9.15pm following reports that a female was refusing to leave the premises.

Mrs Hale, prosecuting, said: "Officers saw her standing on the landing, shouting and swearing at a group of males and females and was intoxicated.

"The officers asked her to calm down but she refused, then asked her to leave. She again refused.

"She continued shouting and swearing as officers tried to escort her away."

The court heard that Ms Watson dropped to the floor and refused to get up.

Mrs Hale added: "She was shouting that she had lost her baby and her boyfriend did not want to know, she became loud and abusive."

Watson was arrested and taken to the custody unit at Abergavenny Police Station where she punched herself 'repeatedly' in the stomach and had to be helped by female officers.

The court heard Watson has no previous convictions but received a caution for being drunk and disorderly in September.

Watson, who was unrepresented, told the court that she could not remember the incident, saying: "I was worked up and drunk." She was ordered to pay a £50 fine.
