Dr Jekyll returned for the second time this season, as Skenfrith United were out-played, outfought and every other out you can think of!

Chasing the game from 2-0 down within 15 minutes, for the fourth time this season, the young Wellington side showed the Skennie boys how you should approach a game of football from the first whistle to the last.

They ran, passed the ball simply and competed for every first and second ball. Skenfrith did the opposite, they didn't run to create space or track back, didn't pass the ball early or simply and they only won a handful of challenges properly.

And, after saying all this, Skenfrith still created eight to nine good or even clear chances to have won the game comfortably, but didn't hit the target once.

It was disappointing to see the home side's players arguing, moaning and also confront each other about the littlest things, when, in fact, they were all making mistakes, which allowed the opposition to continue the game whilst it passed them by, meaning the men they were marking continued to attack and cause them more problems.

The final score of 3-0 left Wellington going home in amazement, they expected the hardest game of the season and they got in effect, the easiest.

Next week Skenfrith areaway to top of the table Bringsty, who have only dropped two points this season.

Another performance like last Saturday and they might as well not bother turning up, because Bringsty will be a very strong side.

In my opinion, though, the Skenfrith players don't like losing, and always step up for the big games.

I hope this is so, because they really need to get started this season and produce a bit more on a regular basis.

This week Skenfrith would like to thank Mr Mike Oxford for sponsoring the match ball.
